PRESS RELEASE
Effective Monday, August 1, 2011, Waste Management shall commence as the Township of Denville’s residential solid waste/garbage collection hauler instead of Blue Diamond Disposal.
A three (3) year contract was awarded to Waste Management as they were the lowest bidder in a recent public bid opening the Township conducted in accordance with the New Jersey Local Public Contracts Law. Their contract for this service extends from August 1, 2011 to July 31, 2014.
The Township is working closely with Waste Management to ensure the smoothest transition possible, including conducting detailed meetings and tours with their local route managers in advance of the switch-over.
During the transition, residents are strongly encouraged to have their garbage out on or before 6:00 A.M. on the date of your scheduled pick-ups. Although garbage collection dates shall remain unchanged, Waste Management may arrive at your home somewhat earlier or somewhat later on your collection day as compared to the former provider.
If you have any questions concerning the change, please contact the Township’s Utility Department at (973) 625-8300 ext. 274.

Summer Business Recycling Initiative
The Township of Denville will be conducting visits to non residential establishments in Denville during the months of June and July to review recycling programs. Businesses should be prepared to show their programs are ACTIVE, CURRENT and EFFECTIVE. Use of recycling containers, posters/signage and collection of recyclables will be stressed. Container(s) must be clearly visible and signage must indicate the establishment's recycle program. Multi containers may be required for larger establishments with multi unit workstations, most office situations, and multifamily units. In advance of these visits, businesses, multifamily, and office complexes should review www.denvillenj.org/recycling.php for program guidelines.
