POSITION OPENING

Recreation Director

The Township of Denville is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as its full-time Recreation Director

Salary:   Dependent upon qualifications/experience.

General Job Duties:

 

  1. Oversee, plan and promote a variety of existing and new recreation activities and programs;
  2. Efficient and fair scheduling of local sports organizations usage of Township-owned fields and recreational facilities;
  3. Administration of a seasonal outdoor aquatic facility and ensure the timely hiring, training and supervision of a qualified seasonal staff;
  4. Administration of a summer camp program and ensure the timely hiring, training and supervision of the seasonal camp staff;
  5. Coordinate with the Denville Department of Public Works issues of field, playground or other recreational facility maintenance and/or improvements;
  6. Serve as the employee liaison to the Recreation Committee and attend periodic evening meetings; and
  7. Perform all other duties as assigned or required.

Minimum Job Requirements:

 

  1. Must possess an Associate’s Degree (Bachelor’s Preferred) from an accredited college or university with a preferred field of study of Recreation or Sports Management;
  2. Certification from the NJDCA as a Certified Parks and Recreation Professional;
  3. Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in managing recreational programs;
  4. Must be available for periodic evening and weekend work-related events; and
  5. Must possess a strong commitment to customer service and must be able to effectively interact and work with others.

 POSITION OPENING

LABORER –PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT

The Township of Denville is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as full-time Laborer in the Department of Public Works.                

Salary:    $15.80 / hour plus an attractive benefits package

General Job Duties:

The selected candidate(s) shall be assigned to perform manual labor tasks in Parks, Roads and Utilities divisions of the Denville Department of Public Works;

The individual(s) must be available to work weekends; 

The candidate(s) must be able to interact with fellow employees, management and members of the public in a polite, courteous and professional manner at all times; and

Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Must possess a valid New Jersey Driver’s License and either have a Class B CDL license or be able to obtain a Class B CLD license within 60 days of starting employment with the Township; and

Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
