Administrative Services


The administrative staff of the Health Department is responsible for providing supervision and organizational management of all Division staff and services through effective leadership, planning, coordination, response, budgeting, evaluation, and reporting accordance with N.J.A.C. 8:52, Public Health Practice Standards of Performance for Local Boards of Health in New Jersey.  Responsibilities of the administrative staff include:

  • Managing and planning of all local public health services and activities
  • Ensuring all public health staff are properly licensed or credentialed
  • Supervising all Health Department staff
  • Ensuring proper enforcement of federal, state, and local public health laws and/or regulations
  • Preparing reports on public health activities and services performed by the Department of Health
  • Procuring and managing all public health grants
  • Monitoring and evaluating all public health programs for effectiveness and compliance
  • Providing public health recommendations to the municipal governing body
  • Providing consultation during the development of any new public health ordinances or amendments to any existing ordinances
  • Preparing public health emergency response plans for natural disasters, bioterrorism, or other incidents
  • Maintaining all public health records
  • Issuing all Health Department licenses
