P.R.I.D.E.

What is P.R.I.D.E.?
A civic organization comprised of volunteer representatives of numerous civic, educational, social and neighborhood organizations within the Denville community

  • Mission: to disseminate and share information affecting Denville citizens; to serve as a clearing house for ideas and initiatives to improve Denville; to provide a means to share and communicate these ideas to citizens, organizations and businesses in Denville.
  • Meetings: Public invited. Last Tuesday in September, November, January, March, and May at 7PM in the Denville Library

For more information about P.R.I.D.E., contact Susan Richter (susan@nextlevelhealing.com)   Melissa Cooke (melissa@RestyleRenew.com) or Bruce Patterson (kevinscollans@yahoo.com)

P.R.I.D.E.'s annual activities are:

Community Blood Drives:  October 29th, 2016 at Town Hall

Annual Award Dinner:  TBA

Rid Litter Day: TBA

National Day of Prayer Observance:  May 4th, 2017 at Town Hall

Many present and past community leaders of Denville have served on the P.R.I.D.E. Council. One of P.R.I.D.E.'s greatest achievements was preventing downtown Denville from being divided by Interstate 80. Due in part to the involvement of the P.R.I.D.E. Council and other community organizations, Interstate 80 was constructed over rather than through the center of town.

Other significant accomplishments of the P.R.I.D.E. Council include:

  • Forming the Denville Historical Society
  • Creating the Township Environmental Commission
  • Creating the Township Audubon Society
  • Assisting in the development of Muriel Hepner Park
  • Creating the Denville Blood Bank
  • Instituting the Rockaway River Clean-Up Committee
  • Building the Laudati Playground at Muriel Hepner Park
